Cash donations to chapter227

            We strongly encourage members qn guests giving cash to the chapter to provide support for on and one of a kind giving to veterans and their families. Except for some input from VVA national the majority of the money comes from individual donations. In 2023 this amounted to over $30,000 with the majority going to the VA’s VAST program for children at Christmas and back to school times.

You can donate cash in several manners:

1. Cash in a collection box at monthly meetings and residual  from the 50/50 drawing
2. Checks to the chapter PO Box number is 5653, Arlington, VA. 22205
3. Credit card to PAYPAL account PayPal.me/VVA227

In addition, the chapter receives prorated funds from the VVA furniture and household sale from the two retail stores and vehicle donation as shown below:

Donating A Vehicle

Vehicles for Veterans is Car Donation Foundation's tax-exempt vehicle donation program that benefits disabled veterans. Our car donation program accepts cars, boats (with trailer), RVs, trucks, SUVs, and motorcycles, whether they are running or not. At no cost to you, we will arrange to have your vehicle towed away at a scheduled time that is best for you and your preliminary tax receipt will be mailed to you within 15 days

Donation of household Items VVA Pickup is a service of Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA). We’ll pickup your used clothes and household goods at your convenience and use them to support programs that address the concerns and needs of all veterans.

Dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans and general kitchen items

Small Furniture

Chairs, tables, beds, and dressers

Small Appliances

Microwaves, toasters, blenders, coffeemakers

Electronics

Cameras, phones, stereos, radios, and other small electronics

Duties of the chapter treasure:

1. Prepare the annual budget and monitor execution.
2. Receive and deposit all receipts.
3. Disburse funds based on guidance from officers and the board.
4. Prepare and submit Irs forms for nonprofits.
